“OnTrack saved my life and my  family,” shares Sophia, a mother who endured incredible hardship. Throughout her pregnancy, Sophia battled to stay clean and sober, entering detox twice but finding herself without a safe, stable place to recover. Her lowest point came when she gave birth to her son in a tent at a park in Grants Pass, homeless and feeling utterly hopeless. A hospital caseworker gave her a lifeline, asking if she would accept a place in OnTrack’s Home Program. Sophia said yes without hesitation, desperate for a chance to rebuild her life.

Sophia’s journey began in emergency housing, where she recovered from childbirth, attended the methadone clinic, and visited her newborn son in the hospital. For the first time in months, she slept in a real bed and began to believe in the possibility of a better future. Within a week, she transitioned to the Home Program house, where she spent 150 days focused on her recovery. Along the way, she reconnected with her 9-year-old daughter and began to heal old wounds.

Her son’s father also joined the Dads Program, and together they worked tirelessly to rebuild their family. After graduating from the Home Program, they moved into OnTrack’s transitional housing. Within weeks, they found an apartment through the Bridges Program and reunited as a family under one roof. “OnTrack didn’t just help me recover,” Sophia says. “They helped me become a mother again. They saved my family.”
